I admire when one pursues their dreams. Ours is to produce fine wine. So naturally we value each of our wine customers. From time to time they write to us directly requesting us to fill another order. English pop singer, Sandie Shaw, is one of them.
Recently I received this email on her behalf:
Dear Kathleen.
Great to hear from you. Yes, Sandie loves your wine. She lives part-time in SW France and is keen to promote their wines and culture.
We are thrilled to have her repeat orders and look forward to having her visit us in June. This week more wine is heading her way.
“Sandie Shaw. The original Brit Girl. Chiselled cheekbones, sophisticated pop operas, independent girl about town. Otherworldliness, impossible glamour, voice of an angel. Barefaced and Shaw-footed. First number one single at 17 years old. Two more under her belt by the time she was 20. A bevy of hits in UK, Europe, USSR, Canada, South America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. First to perform behind the Iron Curtain, last to perform in Iran. Denounced in Russia, banned in The States. Loved everywhere by the young at heart.”
Such a free spirit.

I find that she is not only talented but inspirational. She has rebounded from all of the unforeseen challenges in her life and remains vibrant. Sandie has been sharing her vocal gift with the world since 1964 and continues to sing.
We have much in common. Just as Sandie shares her talent with others, we at Plaisance will share our precious wine with you.
The wine at Plaisance does not come without effort and determination. We know the obstacles are there, but sharing a beautiful glass of wine at the end of the day is a moment to be cherished.

Enjoy the images of her, past and present, along with an audio clip. (Singing those were the days in 1968)
PS It strikes me as no coincidence that my previous blog involved a traveling marionette show, while this one is dedicated to Sandie Shaw who made famous the song “Puppet On A String”.
