Rapid Growth

The vineyard is developing rapidly at this time. The flowering of the merlot is finished and the grapes are set. They resemble tiny little green pearls.

The first trimming has been done in which the tops of the vines are trimmed by machine. The previous pruning was done by hand, for the counter shoots and the shoots from the base of the vines.

Due all the recent rain and humidity the treatments continue to protect us from mildew and other maladies that arise because of moisture. We pray that July and August and September will be dry and sunny.

On this past Monday, June 16th, we tasted and evaluated samples from the 2006 and 2007 vintages.

Our oenologist, Jean-Philippe Fort, confirmed once again that they are on track. The 2007 is especially impressive at this point.
